Softwood plywood is manufactured by cutting sheets of wood veneer from logs using a rotary lathe. The veneer is dried and bonded together with structural adhesives. Pieces of veneer are typically put together with the grain at 90 degrees to the adjacent veneer. A piece of plywood is generally made with an odd number of veneers, or plies, to create a structural panel featuring its maximum strength axis in the direction parallel to the face grain, which is usually the 8' direction. The orientation of veneers also results limited movement across the grain. APA (American Plywood Association) stamped graded plywood products are manufactured with no added urea formaldehyde, to preserve indoor air quality and protect our environment.

 Fire Rated Sheathing

Lumber Products Fire retardant plywood panels are pressure-impregnated with Pyro-Guard - a pressure-impregnated, third-generation, interior fire-retardant for lumber and plywood used in enclosed structural applications.

Pyro-Guard is recommended for enclosed structural applications such as: Plywood roof sheathing , Mezzanines , Shelving , Floor sheathing , Steps, Stairways, Platforms , Stages, Plywood subfloors, and Wall sheathing.

 Sanded Plywood

Sanded plywood panels are used in applications that require a smooth. paintable, surface. Thicknesses of sanded panels range from ¼ inch to 1¼ inch or more, in steps of 1/8 inch. The thickness tolerance is ± 1⁄64 inch for panels ¾ inch or less and ± 3% of specified thickness for thicker panels. An “A” grade sanded plywood face features a smooth, paintable surface, has no mare than 18 neatly made repairs (boat, sled or router type) running parallel to the grain. Repairs with synthetic patching compound are permitted in this as well as all lesser grades. A “B” grade face allows circular repairs, shims, minor splits, and small knots.

 Resawn Plywood

Structurally rated plywood siding panels offer strength and beauty in a single panel, and Lumber Products offers a variety of sizes and patterns. Panel siding delivers an attractive exterior appearance while often eliminating the labor and materials cost of installing separate structural sheathing or diagonal wall bracing. Rated siding products are manufactured from a number of different species and are available in many configurations, most commonly, T1-11 which is available in both plain and grooved panels. These attractive panels can be stained or painted and offer a cost-effective and attractive exterior for contemporary structures.
